I shot this in Chicago while we were passing time before one of our design tours. The firm we were going to was in a grungy warehouse district. We had about twenty minutes to kill and as we were walking down the street this hydrant caught my eye. I thought the form was great and when I looked at it on the screen of my camera it looked like an asterisk to me. I love type.

golden slumbers my ass
King size bed. Private room. No child crying in the night or sleeping right next to me. And...
I slept like shit. Tossed and turned all night. Constantly waking up. Dreaming about some weird Tommy Lee/Nikki Sixx amalgamation.
Not exactly what I was hoping for.

checking in
Hello Chi town, *pixie's* here.
Well, I made it to Chicago without shedding a tear. Despite the too much coffee, not enough food induced nausea during the last hour of the bus ride the trip it was fine. The Art Institute was fabulous and my PRIVATE room is a nice size with a BIG bed. I've got free internet access (YAY!) and am getting ready to head out for a walk down Michigan Ave. and dinner (paid by the boss) at Buca di Beppo's. I do miss my boys...but I've already talked to them since check-in less than an hour ago.
