new music wanted—help!

It's that time again. I'm looking for some new music to put on my iPod and I need your help.

mudcrutch

So, have you heard about this? Apparently, Tom Petty has a new album out. The band is called Mudcrutch (but in my head I keep saying Mudcrotch). It's made up of members of Petty's first band—before the Heartbreakers. The link above gives more details about the album along with some samples you can listen to. I clicked on a couple of the songs yesterday and it reminded me of The Traveling Wilburys—which I love. I can see JQ and I sipping cocktails on the back porch on warm summer nights listening to this one.

sing along

Last night JQ and I were watching this special about Pete Seeger on PBS. At the end of the show, Seeger said something to the affect that people should sing more. I pondered this statement for a moment and smiled. I turned to JQ and said happily, "I sing everyday." Whether it's singing along to one of the theme songs of the morning public television cartoons, belting out a song playing on the radio or off our iTunes, or just making up little ditties to sing to G-man, I'm singing every day.

That makes me happy. How about you? Do you sing it loud, proud, and often?

best shot monday

I love this picture I took of G-man on Valentine's Day. The overhead point-of-view, the unexpected cropping, the exaggerated foreshortening. I love the way his big blue eyes reflect my white shirt. The shallow depth of field. The diagonal lines. All of these things make this my Best Shot Monday this week.

Remember back in September when I won that $25.00 iTunes gift card from Mr. Fab? I played his Labor Day contest and kicked major blogger butt. Well, Friday I finally got to redeeming that puppy.
