random photo Friday

I must admit, this isn't the first photo I grabbed today. The first one I grabbed was another version of last week's picture. Seriously. So I cheated this week and picked the second one out—but fear not, I didn't show any mercy by picking a "pretty" one.
This is a picture of my father and I from the eighties. From the looks of it, I'd put my money on 1983 or '84.

Let me point a few items out for you.
  • My Dad and I both look like dorks. I look like Shirley Temple with that perm and the little red bow.
  • Look at that shirt I'm sporting! Nice pattern.
  • My socks rocked. I remember them well. Black with silk-screened bams, pows, and zaps.
  • Look at that picture of me on the wall. Aren't I a cutie?
  • It's a Polaroid! How awesome is that? Who takes Polaroids anymore that don't involve little kids with costumed holiday icons?

Ha, I love the huge picture of yourself on the wall. This is like a Fathead™ shot of you. So cool.

Ehm... there was no need to point out those few items... they were all pretty obvious... ;-)

mel—My Dad even had a perm like that!

dutchy—You have super vision if you can see the detail on my socks. ;)

I love old pictures like this because if you look close you can see all the qualities that made you who you are today.

We took Calem for pictures with a costumed holiday icon in the mall, and even that wasn't Polaroid anymore. All digital.
