screwed

On Monday, November 5th I watched Gideon go from laying on his stomach to sitting on his butt. Unassisted. In one fluid movement. Later on that day while we were playing on the floor he pulled himself from that same stomach position to a standing position with the aid of the couch. He thought that was quite hilarious. After his nap I watched him stand up from a sitting position in his crib. I caught that last one on tape.
This is no fluke. He's been doing it repeatedly since Monday. We are screwed.

Teach him how to do squats- maybe it will keep him entertained and in one place for a while.

When he masters that, maybe lunges will occupy him for a time...

I see him everyday and I still had to watch this several times. God I love him!

I think my favorite part is how once he pulls himself up, he looks over the edge of the crib rail, like "Okay, next goal, to get over this wall." Good luck, he's like a tiny athletic genius!!

shades—I sure do lots of squats these days picking him (and his toys) up all the time.

jq—Me too.

mel—Nap time is the only down time anymore.

christina—He's a daredevil too. He has no fear of gravity whatsoever.

Good luck. Pretty soon he's walking. Hopefully you've already installed the child-proofing on the outlets and the kitchen cabinets because once they're walking, they start exploring.

Still, it's very exciting!

tf—We have most of the house child proofed. We still need cabinet locks. I plan on picking them up really soon since he already likes to pull on the handles.

Just wait until he is tearing around the house and you can't seem to catch him any more. The you are really screwed! Also when he learns to hide...I did that to my mom alot.

My mom has been waiting to teach Calem about the big boy bed for the same reason. She wants to keep him contained as long as possible. LOL!

And, with her surgery, it was probably better that way.

Oh....I just had an Aidan flashback! I remember when he was in this stage. I love how when Gideon gets up, he opens his mouth. He is so precious!!! BABY FEVER STOP!!!! ;)
