vegas princess—It's a hornworm caterpillar covered with parasitic wasp eggs. They are really bad for tomatoes plants—which is where I found the bugger.
I was grossed out by him too, but compelled enough by the eggs to go grab my camera before I cut the branch to dispose of him.
connie—I know it gets the eww factor for content—even I get the willies when I look at it. Something about the image really spoke to me though. I think the shallow dof and softness contrasting with the ick of the subject merries well.

All kinds of wildlife!!! :)
Eeew is that some type of worm? Yuck! The photo is really cool though. It's so cool looking.
You're right; strainer head is always fun. :)
Cool photos all of them! :)
Awesome shots - the first and the last both made me smile. Very cute.
I don't like the second one. That thing is seriously nasty.
Love your redundant zebra.
secret agent mama—That's really all I shot this week.
hip chick—It's a hornworm caterpillar. Gross, right?
rebecca—The difference in the way it fits on his head in those two pictures cracks me up.
rebecca canon—Thanks!
maggie's mind—Glad I could bring a smile to your face today.
nobody—The white sacs all over it are parasitic wasp eggs. Does that make it even more disgusting?
texasholly—Thanks! I thought it was kind of ironic.
What the heck is THAT thing in the second picture? It is giving me the willies.
