shit

That is our 10 foot umbrella that usually sits in our picnic table. What a waste. The damn thing has been a hassle since we got it—but oh how I wanted one. We got it two Christmases ago and couldn't use it because the stand we bought was too weak to hold it up properly. So it sat in the garage for an entire year—not being used. We needed a picnic table or a really heavy duty stand. We opted for a picnic table. Which we built a month ago.

Last night some serious storms whipped through the Toledo area. I just heard on the news we had 4 to 6 inches in our immediate area. Along with the rain came the wind. The wind that picked the umbrella up out of the hole in the top of the picnic table. The wind that bent the post in half near the base, ripped the canvas off, and bent half the spokes straight into the air the wrong direction.

The wind that turned our awesome umbrella into a piece of trash. What a waste of $100. Stupid wind.

That sucks.

I've thought about getting one of those. Now you know why I haven't. We get lots of wind here.

I echo that it does suck.

And this is totally off topic of your post, and I'll totally understand if you don't answer thinking this is some sort of spam. But, I work at a Visitors Center in PA and it seems like people in OH like to visit. So I'm asking if you have some sort of local magazine or radio station in mind that we can advertise in for next summer. Our demographics are something like 30's to mid 50's.

nobody—If one of us would have put the umbrella down yesterday this wouldn't have happened. The canvas just turned into a huge sail...and that was it.

PA Visitors Center—I would try the Toledo City Paper as a starting point.

Of course, you could always pay for my family and I to come visit PA and then do a recap here on this fancy blog. You'd get dozens of readers not from the Ohio area checking it out. :)

sili alley—It's supposed to be cool but nice tomorrow evening. We live next to a park where the neighbors put on a kick ass fireworks display so we'll just be hanging around here.

I knew a post titled "Shit" would not be something good. :)

What a bummer. Those winds can be brutal. We had to get into the habit of making sure we took our umbrella down every single time we used it because the wind would whip it around. I am sorry you awesome umbrella got ruined.
