they're never around long enough

Two nights ago, JQ came home from work with this huge bunch of lilacs for me. I don't know exactly where they came from but the make the entire living room smell like a Bath & Bodyworks store. It's fantastic.

JQ is so nice. Lilacs are the best smell in the world. We just planted two lilac bushes in the yard, but they probably won't bloom this year. Our neighbors have a bunch of them in their backyard, though, so we can smell them when we sit outside at night.

mel—He is a good guy. I'm a lucky gal.

christina—Lilacs always remind me of my Mom. They're her favorite. We have some sand cherries along our fence that aren't doing to well (bores, boers?). If they don't improve I'd like to plant dwarf lilacs.

alli—It is a huge bouquet. It's too bad they have such a short season.

I adore lilacs. There was a house down the street from where I grew up that had HUGE lilac bushes. We would sneak down and cut bunches for my mom every year.
