deconstruction ii

A little over a year ago I did a small project with a bunch of our students design group members. Utilizing a copy of a page out of a book, remove a portion of the words to create a new narrative. When we were finished, we all shared our results. The true vibe of what I was going for could only really be expressed orally. Without knowing where to pause, you would miss out on what was really going on in my mind. Mine was reminiscent of beatnik poetry. It was really easy and super fun. So fun in fact, that when I got home I did another one.


If I were reading this to out loud it would go something like this:

Forms of activity involve creativity.
Food, hand modified through ritual.
Ideas suggest the medium.
Such expressions—inspiration.

Expression leaves many unprotected—tempting space.
Sacred and secret incorporated into others.
Woman elaborately wrought in her daily skills.
Visit the creation.
Prod. Feel. Violate. Serve.

Define the identity.
Express.
Become ideas.
Protect the expressions.
