iWon

Remember back in September when I won that $25.00 iTunes gift card from Mr. Fab? I played his Labor Day contest and kicked major blogger butt. Well, Friday I finally got to redeeming that puppy. Such a procrastinator. Shall I show you my list of things not finished? Come on real quick...I can get to the rest of this post later.

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, the iTunes gift card. Friday night I perused the masses of music and picked 15 new tunes for our collection. Some a down right embarrassing—but they are all a part of me—so pride be damned. Here's what I've picked so far:
  • Footloose—Kenny Loggins (This was one of the contest answers. I had to get it.)
  • Wild, Wild West—The Escape Club
  • We Didn't Start the Fire—Billy Joel
  • Promised Land—Elvis
  • I Remember You—Skid Row
  • Home Sweet Home—Mötley Crüe (My favorite hair band)
  • What I Am—Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians
  • What's Up?—Four Non Blondes
  • Love Is Like Oxygen —Sweet (This is one of Josh's dirty secrets)
  • Cecilia—Simon and Garfunkel
  • Children of the Sun—Billy Thorpe
  • Teach Your Children—Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young
  • I Can't Dance—Genesis
  • Solsbury Hill—Peter Gabriel
  • Sledgehammer—Peter Gabriel
I have 10 songs left. What would you choose?

Hi Pixie:

I love that 4nonblondes song. Too bad they were a one hit wonder. Here are ten songs I never get tired of no matter how often I listen to them:

Ray of Light - Madonna
When You Were Young - The Killers
Waterloo - ABBA
Brian Wilson - Barenaked Ladies
It's All Been Done - BNL
Sweet Emotion - Aeorosmith
Georgia On My Mind - Ray Charles
Thunder Road - Bruce Springstein
Layla - Derek and the Dominos
Two Step - Dave Matthews

George Harrison's whole collection just got released on iTunes, so there's a lot of opportunity to fill in any gaps. "My Sweet Lord" is always a good one.

Also, try "Taper Jean Girl" by Kings of Leon. My wife just bought that song after hearing it in Disturbia and it is do goddamn catchy, you will play it over and over.
