pureed

Since Gideon has started solid food, Josh and I have tried each thing that he has eaten. Just a little bite off a spoon to get a taste. So far we've eaten rice cereal (made with breast milk & with formula), green beans, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, and peas. The cereal isn't bad albeit a bit bland but the veggies leave little to be desired.

Yesterday Gideon tried pears. I scooped a heavy teaspoon into the bowl, took a tiny taste off the spoon, and gave Josh a tiny bite from the other side of the teaspoon.

Then I licked the spoon clean. Pears rock.

I also try stuff Aidan eats. Most of it is pretty gross. The fruit stuff is a lot better. I never tried cereal with breast milk, being that the breast would be my sister's. But someday with my own, it wouldn't be a big deal.

I liked the pureed bananas.

Oh, and I thought the cereal (even though we didn't use breastmilk) tasted like pennies.

naynay—I wouldn't drink your sister's breast milk either. Although I'm sure she's a lovely girl.

tf—Bananas are coming up soon.

tf—The breastmilk cereal is sweeter. Not sure about the pennies. I may have to taste it again.

kelwhy—I won't tell. We got a sample of the dehydrated apples from Gerber and I loved them. Gideon wouldn't have been able to eat them before they would have expired so I did. Yummy.

My first roommate in college would eat baby food as her meals. She stocked our mini fridge with all these little jars and would take them to calss with her. She was convinced that they were full of nutrients but would help her loss weight.

Needless to say we were only roommates for three weeks.

vp—It's basically just the veggie/fruit and water. I imagine they are nutritious but stick to the real thing.

I loved the fruits - you'll get to where it's okay not to taste his food especially when he gets to the meats...
