Jen and her damn meme—or—I should have kept my mouth shut about being bored.

Alright, alright, so I may have lashed out in a moment of selfishness that I had nothing to read. It was early, I hadn’t had enough coffee, and I just didn’t feel like draggin’ my dirty ass into the shower yet. Now, we all have to suffer because Jen has tagged me with a “weird things” meme. I don’t know how entertaining this will be for any of you but I’ll give it my best shot to come up with some new and interesting (i.e. weird) things about me. Here we go…

1.When we get to the fortune cookie part of our Chinese meal we (meaning all my friends and I) have a ritual that ensues.
    1. Take fortune out of cookie and without reading it, lick it and stick it to your forehead.
    2. Eat cookie.
    3. When you are finished with the cookie, and only when you are finished, you can take the fortune off and read it.
*It is this process the makes the fortune “come true”.
2. I shower in almost the exact same manner every morning.
    1. Wet hair and apply shampoo
    2. Wash face
    3. Rinse hair and apply conditioner
    4. Shave
    5. Rinse conditioner out of hair
    6. Wash body—belly first, then top to bottom
3. When I sign my first name, the “ol” combination looks like the symbol for leo, which is what I am. I don’t do this intentionally, I just happened upon to notice that was the case one day. I think it’s cool. I’m a dork.

4. Two of my favorite condiments are hot sauce and mayonnaise. They go with just about anything in my opinion.

5. Whenever I walk by snapdragons, I have to make them talk. They usually sing “Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime dollllll.” Josh and I even considered making a little movie about it once. It never transpired.

6. If an instrumental comes up while I’m singing along with a song, I will scat out the melody right along with the song. I’m an amazing mouth guitarist.

LOL! I love the part about the snapdragons! I'll never look at them the same!

I think the leo thing is neat- you're not a dork. I'm going to start analyzing how to make a fish out of my signature.

It's a good thing they don't serve fortune cookies until the end of the meal or I'd eat mine first.

I know how it is about blogging. I used to log on at 9am CST and post a blog first then go looking to read everyone else's and nobody would have posted yet. Nobody would have posted yet because it's still early all over the rest of the planet. Now I log on and check email and other message boards first then read everyone else's blogs to see if anybody's done a "just got to work" post, otherwise nobody posts until their lunchbreak. On some days, nobody posts until afternoon or after work.

THEN if I've thought of something I go back and blog myself. Sometimes I have to comment on everyone else's stuff (if it's available) before I come up with anything interesting to say. Commenting helps. My life just isn't involved enough at this point. Most days, I don't even leave the house, except to walk the dog, so...what do I experience, then, that's blogworthy. This week, anything I blogged thus far would have been "today I watched Regis and Kelly and then The View (I am still trying to figure out why they advertise that as "new" when they just compile segments from older shows and throw in a little bit with today's date at the beginning- you can tell because they all change clothes several times during such broadcasts...")

Or "guess what the REST of my family did for Easter" but nobody has sent me pictures yet.

Or "here are all the mini-fights I had with my husband during this weekend's house-hunting trip."

THAT one was actually funny. Remind me to blog about that.

I like the snapdragon thing too.

Stop complaining Jen! I'm at least five hours ahead of you lot, I have to wait until 2pm for the "just got to work posts"!

I'm on the east coast, so when I'm up at 7:30 it's still 4-ish for you Jen. Plus, I've read all the other posts the previous night so I've got nothin'. I haven't been over to the Y!F forums in an eternity—which equates to when I've had my last Y!F workout. I'm just to attached to this one now.

I'm not complaining, I just know how it is.

Why is Ohio on east coast time? Florida is only an hour ahead of us here...and when DH was doing all of his 5 years of travelling (NY, NJ, Canada, Ohio, Indy, NC, KY, TN, FL...) he was never more than 2 hours ahead.

I updated it, so I don't understand. I don't want to have to do this all at school. any ideas? Email me at : sharongoldner@hotmail.com

And which Hostas has Madame bought? Details are required to earn your gardening bore badge.

What's the weather like there? We're in full early spring bloom this side of the Atlantic (I hate saying the pond, far too pretentious). We have a clump (about 6'x3') of Hostas, all are just starting to come up, so I was busy with the sharp gravel to keep them nasty snails away this weekend.

Jen—I don't really understand the time zone thing. I was thinking Texas was on the same time zone as Cali. Maybe I'm wrong...

Sharon—I sent you an email regarding the behaviors

the boy—I bought four Hostas; 2 blue ones, 1 "golden tiara" which is green with yellow rims, and one green and white varigated one. I planted them in the front corner of our yard on this little "island" around our japanese maple. I wanted to get a variety of hostas for the repetition/contrast thing. I can't wait until the year when they are all filled in—I'm sure it will be fab. Don't worry about my ability to bore...it will happen.

You know, the word "scat" has a double meaning. Heh heh.

You should do an audio post of your jazz scat stuff.

Texas is on Central Time.

I haven't visited Y!F in about a year, I think. Maya hasn't seen me for a long time!

I love your list! I use to eat Mayo and french fries, but since I started WW mayo just doesn't agree with my stomach anymore. I think it is cool about your name looking like the leo symbol.

When you read your fortune, do you always add "in bed" afterwards? lol.

I think the weather is getting warmer, because I noticed some of my blog buddies haven't posted as much also.

MadE—I'm not talking about feces or leaving, just the jazz meaning. I even thought about the audio post. We shall see. Not sure that should be my first audio post though.

Lynda—I don't add "in bed" but maybe I should. My fortune cookie from yesterday was "Expect great things." hehe...
