bits & pieces

  • I am a crabby ass on mornings when I have PMS and only get a few hours of sleep. Sorry, JQ.

  • Tomorrow is my last day of work until the end of August. I'm just a wee bit excited.

  • Grades are due on Monday and I turned mine in yesterday. For the first time ever I'm ahead of schedule and done five days before the deadline. I'm usually grading the weekend before they are due and driving out to work on that Monday to turn them in. It is liberating to not have that looming over me.

  • We have an important meeting at work tonight and I am in charge of providing the meal for 10 people. I tried really hard to not over order (or under order for that matter). I hope I guessed correctly. Two whole chickens, four pounds of BBQ rib tips, 3 quarts of side dishes, 12 corn muffins, a pie and drinks. That sounds like enough for a light meal, right?

  • I've eaten breakfast before 10 every morning since Saturday and haven't eaten past 9:30 on each of those nights. Coincidence?

  • I need someone to put together a workout plan for me. Shades?

I'm not sure what rib tips are, but for regular bone-in baby back ribs I plan on one pound per person. If they're boneless then half that is enough. Not sure on the chicken either, but I guess that would be 16 pieces. I think you did ok.

But now I'm hungry and thinking about that rack of ribs I have vacuum sealed in my freezer at home.

Rib tips are the boneless pieces at the ends of ribs before they square them off. I figured about 1/3 of a pound per person plus the chicken would be enough of a main course. At this point, what's done is done. We'll see in a couple of hours how I did.

My guess is you were pretty darn close to having the right amount of food.

nobody—We had more than enough since two people didn't make it to the meeting. I brought some home for JQ.

Email me your likes/dislikes, the equipment/facilities/tools you have available, the reasonable amount of time you can spend on such activities, time of day you/your body is most agreeable to exercise, a few goals/expectations, and let's see what we can come up with.
