asterisk

I shot this in Chicago while we were passing time before one of our design tours. The firm we were going to was in a grungy warehouse district. We had about twenty minutes to kill and as we were walking down the street this hydrant caught my eye. I thought the form was great and when I looked at it on the screen of my camera it looked like an asterisk to me. I love type.

That is a pretty cool photo. I don't know that I would have been able to recognize it for what it is if you hadn't explained. Very unique.

I like that...very cool!

Asterisk? Nope, I don't see it. I see an alien doing a jumping jack while another alien crawls out of his butt. But that's just me.

I love it when ordinary objects are suddenly something entirely different! You were lucky to have a camera right there. When I see 'weird things' -like a tree that looks like a cartoon ketchup bottle, for example- my camera's nowhere to be found.

I did see the ketchup bottle tree about a week ago at a park. Maybe I'll go back, now that you've inspired me...

I used to know where there's a tree that looks like a hand giving the finger. I should find that again.

I know of a tree that looks like a metal building spigot that resembles an asterisk. It's uncanny.

violet—Thanks.

mr. fab—Awww...shucks.

nobody—So, if I understand you correctly, Nobody=Butt?

cruel shoes—I carried my camera in my purse everywhere in Chicago. I should do that more often when I'm around Toledo.

nobody—Mother Nature has a sense of humor doesn't she?

jq—Shouldn't you be writing a post of your own instead of razzing me?

naynay—That's the type of confirmation I was looking for. Get it? Type? Whoo-hoo...I slay me.

blogarita—Thanks!

What a cool pic! So you must me back safe and sound now. Good trip even though you were without your boys?
