I'd rather stay home

Wednesday morning I leave for a three day trip to Chicago. It's work related, and while I'm sure it will be an enjoyable time, I'm not what you might call excited to go. This will be the first time I've really been apart from Gideon. I've never been away from him overnight and have never been more than a 20 minute drive away.

I'll have my own room and am most looking forward to getting some well-deserved rest. I have obligations each morning/afternoon but my nights are open. On Wednesday we're going to Buca di Beppos and Thursday I hope to be in my room watching My Name is Earl in my jammies. Such a party animal. BTW, does anybody know what time Earl airs in Chicago?

There will be an obligatory trip one afternoon to the Apple Store and Jamba Juice. I also want to stop at Vosges to pick up a Mo's Bacon Bar or two. Other than that no real plans. Well, besides passing the time until I can get back to my two favorite guys.

No, don't leave us!

Oh they look so sad! But I am sure you will have a fine time on your own. And then all the more excited to come home!

I think Earl comes on at 7 PM in Chicago. Isn't Central different and airs earlier than they are supposed to? Because I always hear shows say "8 PM/ 7 Central." But I could be wrong.

This post is so different from the last time you went on a work trip out of town! You don't sound excited at all- not even about any of the great places you usually would be raring to go- especially the eateries! Wow!

Having a baby really does change everything, doesn't it? This time, I'm really feeling bad for you that you have to leave! I keep remembering the excitement you used to convey about these sorts of trips.

Wow.

Chicago is Central Time, so "Prime Time" starts at 7pm, 1 hour earlier than the east and west coasts. I don't watch Earl so I can't help you there.

I imagine it's got to be hard to leave Gideon for the first time! I feel so bad about leaving the dogs when I have to go out of town...I imagine it's thousands of times harder for a bebe. But anyway, I hope you have a safe, happy trip and hopefully you won't miss them *too* much.

I'm leaving tomorrow, too, for a business trip. I'm going to DC for three days. Look us, the Travelling Bloggers. :)

vp—Isn't that shot great? I thought it was a perfect image for how I hope they feel about me leaving.

shades—It's the same trip. I'm sure it will be fun, I'd just rather have my guys in tow. And yes, having a baby really does change everything.

nobody—What? No comment about the Bacon Bar?

cruel shoes—I'm pretty sure we can't just put out extra food and water for G-man. DC is so fun...will you have downtime?

I bet you'll miss JQ's knees, feet and teeth. ;)

Have fun even if you'll be home sick. I wish I could go on a business trip.

I've done the bacon bar thing, no need to repeat my mistake.

I hope you have fun anyway. That's a great picture.

Why didn't I hear of this. We could've had a "blogger meet-up." (Even though I live about 35 miles south of Downtown.)
