type bookends

I found these bookends on sale at Kohl's a couple of weeks ago—$11.99 marked down from $29.99. Technically I don't need these at all, but at that price I could not pass them up. They make the font aficionado in me swoon. I'm especially fond of the @. It is one of my favorite letterforms. The only thing that could make this better is if the asterisk would have been an ampersand. That's would be this one—&.

What about an interrobang? (An awesome letter form that is the combination of a question mark and an exclamation point. Check it out on wikipedia.)

I love the @ - will have to check out our Kohls (when the roads open back up!)

‽ I don't know if that shows up, but it's an interrobang that I've copied.

Here's the wikipedia entry.

I can't believe you felt you had to explain what an ampersand was. That was for my benefit, wasn't it? LOL

tf—I am familiar with that mark. I don't think it would have the same beauty of form next to the asterisk that the others have.

fantastagirl—Look online. Screw driving.

tf—It does show up.

fab—Perhaps.

OMG! I want those! I also want brass chimpanzees reading a book in the same pose as "The Thinker." They were at Barnes and Noble years ago, and I haven't seen them sense.

I love those, especially the ampersat and would like one of an ampersand too. That is my favorite punctuation mark. Even better that you used the word ampersand. No one I work with knows what that is. Us English majors in love with language and its forms are few and far between I fear.

I love ampersands. I practiced long enough that I can make lovely ampersands by hand. Yeah, I'm that girl.
