mixed nuts

  • On our way to Best Buy on Friday, JQ, G-man, and I were rear-ended. Everyone is alright and the damage is minimal—a couple of small holes in the bumper. However, we seem to be getting ducked by the kid who hit us. The insurance info he gave us is incorrect and he won't return our calls.

  • We had our taxes done today. I hate paying someone to get money back that I already paid out to the government.

  • G-man's poo has reached new heights of yuck.

  • I've been making really great choices with regards to nutrition this week. Then, on Sunday my Grandma had us over for lunch for my Mom's birthday. She served nothing healthy. Fried chicken, cole slaw, cake, etc. Yummy.

  • I'm on book #5 for the year—The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.

  • I like almonds, cashews, pistachios, and hazelnuts.

We got rear-ended? I don't remember that.

What were we talking about?

HA! I loved the last sentance. Went with the title brilliantly.

I am sorry you got rearended. That really sucks, especially since he is being sketchy. Did he give you the correct name? Because you maybe be able to Google him and find another phone number or an address to send the letter from your attorney when you sue.

I so love that you are on book #5. What an achievement for being a working mom! You are way ahead of me. Already going to be March, and I still haven't finished one.

You didn't file a police report? Working in insurance I can tell you that is a #1 no no. I HOPE that moron calls you back!

Poop gets worse as the kids get older doesn't it? Whenever my sister asks me to change A-man's diaper... no lie.... I put on gloves and hold my breath for dear life. Ick.

Paying your taxes sucks worse when you have 2 jobs in one year and also unemployment. I think I am getting $1.50 back. ;)

Oh and I love nuts too. Almonds are my favorite.

Always file a police report.

Poop smells like shit.

I already got my tax refund.

I like smoked almonds.

jq—You remember everything that has to do with rear ends. Who are you trying to fool?

vp—Hehe...closing the loop as they say at work.

We did get the correct name and work number but are having trouble actually talking to him. I will not be ignored.

rr—Have you started one?

mel—I'm enjoying it so far. It hasn't called to me as much as the others, but maybe my fatigue is just winning out.

naynay—We didn't call the police because of the little damage done. When we called yesterday to file the report they said we had to go downtown and file in person. We have over 6 inches of snow on the ground today and I don't think I'll make it to the station. We had 48 hours, so after today we'll be s.o.l. on the police report.

You are funny with the gloves. They certainly stink more and are squishy and all over the place. Too much testicle poop for my liking.

nobody—Yes, poop smells like shit. That should be on a t-shirt.

I like walnuts and cashews- I'll eat others but... given a choice...

As for Naynay's police report- last time I tried to do that, the sheriff's dept. TOLD me they were filing a report "just to have it on record" when someone pulled out in front of me when I had the green light and right-of-way and I slid into them when I hydroplaned on wet pavement (going all of 25mph...)and then left the scene. HOWEVER, when DH, my insurance co. and I all tried to get ahold of said police report for insurance purposes- it was nowhere to be seen, and thus, my insurance co. still has the collision that was not my fault, on my record, and my rates are high, and I had to pay out a whopping deductible to even get anything fixed, and nobody will do anything about any of it because the stupid police never really filed the report.

Here, the police don't even want to be involved unless there's an injury.

So, my new thoughts are that, as much as I used to love my insurance co. and how the family has used them since my dad got policies with them 3 decades ago... they're just a necessary evil. That's money we're never going to see again, and they'll always find a "loophole" in order to keep taking our $.

Glad you all are ok! I got rear ended about a year and a half ago. I am glad that guy didn't try to duck out. (Of course, I couldn't drive off in the car afterwards, what with the one wheel the wrong direction and everything.)

:)

I have heard of The Secret Life of Bees. I am curious as to what you think of it. (I haven't read it.)
