day 30 & a friend

This is it. The last day of NaBloPoMo. I made it through. And you know what? It really wasn't that bad. As restrictive as it was—you MUST post everyday—it was very freeing. Just posting whatever. Dare I say it was fun? It was.

I think I may take the weekend off. Then again, maybe not. JQ and I are going to try to wrap up our Christmas shopping, put up the tree, and visit with friends and family. If I get a chance I'd also like to wrap the presents and get that out of the way. It's cold here and we're supposed to get snow this weekend so I see a big batch of twice baked potatoes and some sort of soup/stew/casserole being made. I made this kick ass batch of homemade macaroni and cheese last week—maybe I'll do another one of those.

So, while I'm off being domestic go check out this awesome comic Victor. It's illustrated by a colleague of mine, Brian Houdashelt. He has been drawing cartoons since he was a young boy living on a rural farm. Brian has this to say about Victor:

"Based on the old science fiction and horror movies of the 1940’s and 1950’s, “Victor” is a look at the few successes and many failings of mad scientist Victor Frankenstutter. I looked to the old cinema masters Vincent Price and Bela Lugosi while designing the look and mannerisms of Victor.

A genius in his own mind, Victor Frankenstutter is a man with many ideas, but never catches his big break. A mad scientist wouldn’t be complete without his trustworthy hunchback assistant. Serving in this role is Ted who is faithful to Victor and his outlandish experiments yet is often the voice of reason in many situations. Victor comes from a long heritage of mad scientists. His father is legendary in the mad scientist community and Victor has a hard time living up his dad’s expectations."

Snarky and sensitive. Plus he wears a cape. How can you not read more? Check out the archives and catch up on the storyline. Then tune in every Monday for a new comic.

You're a better woman than I. I haven't been blogging at all. I miss it, but I can't get any thoughts together. Congratulations on completing NAMOBLO, or whatever it is called. It is early in the morning and I can't think correctly. :)

naynay—Maybe you should just do a free flow post. Don't worry about a topic. Just write what's on your mind. You can always edit it before you hit publish.
