shut it

I can't sleep with the bedroom closet door open. It drives me nuts. Come to think of it, I don't really like having that door open except when we are accessing it's contents. It's an accordion style door that vees (v's?) out towards you when you open it. Even if the door isn't actually open, but rather pulled a bit so it vees out, it bothers me. I find it oddly creepy.

I know it's one of those completely irrational behaviors, but it's there. You?

Honey, I am 28 years old and still run down the stairs at warp speed in the dark because I am scared. I totally get what you're saying!

I'm with you on the closet. It's more a habit to me. We have two closets in our room (one huge walk-in, and another standard one with the accordian doors, like yours). I'm not scared or anything, but I keep them closed. I can't sleep if they're open.

Unlike naynay, I have no problem with the dark. In the morning, after I work out, I go upstairs to get my clothes out of the big closet. I walk through the room in the pitch dark, open the closet door, walk in, close the door, and then flip the lightswitch. My wife says I'm nuts and that no one on earth would just walk into a dark closet in a dark room and then close the door, but I do. I guess I'm nuts.

I have a few other neurotic behaviors. Sandwiches sliced diagonally, toilet paper coming from the top, and when I get peanut butter out of the jar, I only eat one half the jar at a time. I scoop straight down and leave the other half untouched, with a pristine, smooth surface. I think I read about it in a Calvin and Hobbes strip, and now I can't stop doing it!

The front seat headrests in my car have to be the same height. Also, the passenger seat cannot be up further than the drivers side seat.

I used to have friends that would purposely mess with me and move everything. Although it bothered me A LOT, I let it go until they left. I never drove too many places with those people.

I am the exact same way about our closet, which is a similar design. I especially hate it when something's hanging out of the closet, even if it's just a shirt cuff.

I'm 100% with you on this. We have two closets in our bedroom, both pocket doors, and a certain husband always leaves them open. It drives me nuts. Are they so hard to close?

I was like that when I was a kid!! It doesnt bother me now though. I am morbidly afraid of spiders though!

CANnot stand it if the bed isn't made before noon. And, preferably, it must be made the moment the last person is out of it, so that it can wait, all nice, neat and "clean"-appearing for me to crawl into it at the end of the day.

And don't you dare make down my side before I am ready to get in it, otherwise, the neatness and freshness is spoiled and it looks just like it was unmade all day.

My husband is finally starting to assemble the many pieces of this and cooperate.

I agree with you! There's just something creepy about a dark closet in a dark bedroom...*shiver*
Plus, it doesn't help that my husband swears up and down that he saw a ghost come out of there. And he's not kidding. *shiver again*

can't sleep either if the closet doors are open.

also can't sleep if i haven't looked under my bed. yup, 28 and still looking under the bed. not so much for the Boogie Man, but moreso for Jeffrey Dahmer.

For me the door to our room needs to be cracked but not shut all the way. And I do the car headrest thing too!
