re-redundant

I really dislike the use of the word irregardless. Without regard. Regardless. Why the addition of the "ir"? Stop the madness people.

The family that blogs together...procrastinates together. Go check out what my other half has to say at his new spot on the web. Leave him a comment and let him know you've stopped by.

Yeah, as a former English Teacher, I have to point out that irregardless is not a word. I had students challenge me becuase it is in the dictionary, but it is deemed nonstandard. It is a redundancy, and, technically a double negative contained within a word. The prefix "ir-" means "without," and the suffix "-less" also means "without." So, irregardless means, technically, "with regard."

I am proud to have read Pixie say I am her better half. I don’t think I have ever been a better half. Though I have been a lot of halves in my life: A half-wit, half-assed, half a sandwich shy of a pic-nic basket (whatever that means).

dutchy—You and Fab were 2 of a very select number of blogs he read before he started blogging himself.

Oh, and Gideon already loves sitting at the computer with us. He'd press all the buttons if we'd let him.

I guess I just wish it was better half. We all know the truth though, don't we.
