blog?

We can all agree that there are at least a few people out there that blog right? Like, oh I don't know, thousands. So tell me then, why is it that I only personally know (as in the 3D realm) a couple of people besides myself that blog. And in reality, those two started as a result of me blogging and both of them rarely update anymore.

A good chunk of my friends know about my blogs, but again, just a few read them. Most of them don't understand the idea of blogging and want nothing to do with it. Is it just the people in my world or are you all in the same blogging boat?

I guess it takes a special kind of person to understand the joy of blogging... Hardly any of my friends get it... I pity them...

As far as I know, only one of my real life friends has a blog. That will change soon, not because more of my friends will be blogging, but because I have plans to meet a few of my blogging friends in person.

I don't tell many of my real-life friends about my blog. Maybe they have blogs, too, and just don't tell anyone.

More than anything, I think you have to be a writer at heart. Most people I know hate writing.

I've never told anyone. So it's possible that everyone you know blogs but keeps it a secret. I don't know any 3D bloggers either.

I am in the same boat. I do have 3D friends that blog, but they don't blog as often as I do, or they eventually give up on blogging. Some of them don't even read mine anymore. Then again... there's those annoying things about blogs... like how other friends start to rely on them as a means of keeping up with you- instead of calling, or emailing...

Technology marches on...

I get what you're saying. I've got two, maybe three friends that comment on my blog and the rest are blog friends I've met in cyberspace. My "real life" friends don't get blogging at all. They don't even read my blog. My husband doesn't even read my blog. He tells people, "I live the blog." I've gotten over it though. I like all you guys just as much as if we were "real life" friends.

What's a blog?

My wife doesn't read my blog, nor do most people I know. They all think it's dumb. They're right. My blog is extremely dumb.

I agree with Leezer, though, about liking my "Blogger Buddies" just as much as real friends. Sometimes things come up, and I say, "My friend out in Seattle... (Leezer)," or any reference to anyone else. Is that wierd?

I'm right next to you in the blogging boat, too. Only a few people I know have blogs and most of them just don't blog enough. I try so hard not to nag them to update, but every now and then I do it anyway.

I usually keep mine a secret until I know I can trust someone. I still have that fear of getting fired since I know my blog's gone to some pretty vulgar, messed-up places over the years. I'm not as scared anymore since I work for a liberal company now. But still...it still is hard to share it. I still think my blog is stupid and I sound so unintelligent when I write in my "blog voice."

But I love it. I don't ever want to delete it. I have to write.

Like Leezer and TF, I also refer to my "friends" whom I have never met in 3D on a regular basis. Or I just say, "Pixie, one of the bloggers" or "I love the bloggers." It's a little group of people that I feel like I know on some level and it's really nice. I'm honored that the people in my little blog-circle actually keep coming back and reading my stuff. It's a neat feeling and non-bloggers just can't understand it. :)

I know very few real life people that blog. I'm beginning to think that no one real blogs....

I only have a few friends that blog, but the ones that do really just do it to post pictures and stuff, which is fine. One of my best friends from high school blogs pretty regularly (Barmaid from Love & Haterade), but other than that, all my blogger friends are virtual. Although I have met Tim and hung out with him and Kym several times in real life, which means we're kind of straddling a weird real-life-internet-life fence. It's like being in a whole other dimension.

I don't know anyone that blogs (in real life). And personally, I don't understand how someone wouldn't just LOVE blogs. I mean, they rock.

It all comes down to interest. Though, I don't know many people who blog (or in general, really, so my stats are screwed because of that). I am the only one in my city that I know of who blogs. But I am sure they are more.

You kind of get into an inner blogger circle.

Most of the people who I got into blogging don't blog any more so I don't have any friends of mine who blog that I haven't met "through" blogging. And even some of those don't blog any more. I don't care if no one I knows blogs because I just enjoy doing it for myself and I know certain people really enjoy reading what I write and that is enough for me. My husband doesn't even read my blog. In fact he pretty much ignores it. But that may be because I talk about hm too much and he doesn't trust the Internet.

Honestly, if one of my friends told me he blogged, I would call him a nerd. Me and two of my friends at work were emailing about Lost two weeks ago and they came up to me and told me I should blog because I have funny comments. I looked at them like they were crazy.

My friend Jill used to blog but doesn't anymore. Other than that, none of my friends blog. But most of them read my blog. I think they enjoy it more than my blog "friends" do. I also call you all my friends. We all support eachother and know what is going on in eachother's lives. And this is going to sound chees, but whatevs. I look up to you and some of the other bloggers who have gone to college and have successful careers. I am working on going back and finally finishing school once and for all and cannot wait to share the news with you.
