eggs

I know how to spell "boiled". Really I do. Look I just did it right there two sentences ago. Without the use of spell-check. But, for some reason, everytime I make hard boiled eggs I'm compelled to write "boilt" on the side of the carton. Not because I can't spell, but because I find way too much humor in it. I can't explain it. It's not really that funny—probably isn't funny to anyone but me (and maybe Josh...maybe). When I open the fridge and see the "boilt" eggs it just makes me smile. Just one more little tidbit of absurdity that makes me who I am.

When my nephew's just-born hospital pics came back, my mom wrote his name and stats on the back, which included "borned April 10, 2006."

I must be the only person that doesn't use spell-check on their blog posts.

I've seen some of my own stupid boo-boos, of late... maybe I should start...

Cookie—"Borned" that's funny. Did she realize that this was so not right?

Jen—I NEVER use spell-check on my blog posts and I'm super anal about spelling things right. If I notice a typo in a post after it's been published I'll go back and change it. The worst is when I find one in my comments where I can't just edit it. The sentence about not using spell check was sarcasm—I didn't want anyone to think I actually spelled boiled with an "it". I only do that on my egg cartons. I don't even remember how I started that, but I ALWAYS do it now.

Do you write "spoilt" on the rotten ones?

That reminds me. My mom always says "ruint" instead of ruined. It's a hillbilly thing, I think. :)

My husband is forever laughing at my midwestern "accent" (he's Norwegian and learned Queen's English). Things like pronouncing "city," "siddy" and things like that.

I absolutely *LOVE* your sense of humor in how you label the eggs. I labeled the cat food container "cat fud" (a tribute to the Gary Larson cartoon) for much the same reason. :)

This is why having kids is so fun. My daughter wrote a note yestday that said "holly [the cat] throo up agen."

Our dog is Ernie. She spells it Eyrney. Love Boilt! It's kind of like spoilt, too.
