Thanks so much to all of you who left comments regarding my last post. Your thoughts really did mean a lot to me through this rough week. The week is now over and the funeral is this morning. I couldn't make it to the showing, but was told that it was really lovely and her parents were in good spirits despite it all. She was obviously very loved by many.
I solved the calf pain issue by sitting down every once in awhile, or at the very least, kneeling on a chair. I think the pain will subside once I get used to being on my feet for extended periods of time again—like by the middle of December when I get two weeks off again and the cycle will start all over.
Is it just me or is anyone else not liking the idea of Jim dating Karen on The Office? It's not that there is anything really wrong with Karen, I just like Pam's personality and dynamic with Jim so much better. Okay, I may be a bit lame for even dwelling on this, but come on, did you see the pain in Pam's heart yesterday when Jim told her he was sorta seeing someone? It's Karen right?
I suppose I should get motivated. There are stamps to be purchased, laundry to be tackled, and shopping to be done if I want to hit my goal of finishing Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving—which is a mere 6 days away!

I'm not sure I'm going to make the shopping goal, either. Spouse Guy won't give me any ideas about what he wants this year.
Love the cartoon!
No way I'll be done shopping by Thanksgiving, especially after losing this entire week. I have no idea what to get for anyone.
They have to do something to keep the plot going. I don't watch The Office (well, I have seen a few episodes), but the commericals made me think of Ross and Rachel in Friends.
Motivation is overrated.
I think we must have seemed in good spirits when we had my sister's Celebration of Life. (I don't like the *F* word - funeral) It seemed we were there to comfort everyone else!
Oh, and I am sure your actions mean a lot to the parents. You are a wonderful person.
i'm with you - i'm trying to finish up my husband's side of the family by this weekend and get it shipped off next week.
my family is visiting in the next 2 weeks so i'm going to make them all pick out what they want while they are here.
i want it to be over with! that's so sad.
Hi Pixie:
Sorry your week has been sad.
I think The Office has to create drama between Jim and Pam so that we'll keep watching. My husband disagrees, and thinks the show would be better if the writers concentrated on the funny stuff, not the romance plot-line. My prediction: Pam will realize how much she really wants to win Jim back so the viewers will now start to see "Hot Pam" - different hair, different clothes, etc. Jim will notice, but he'll like her better the other way. Oh, and she'll actually get a life and pursue art.
Jim is making a mistake, but we all know they will get back together like Rachel and Ross did. Just give it some time.
I just started watching the office, but I could tell she wanted a relationship with him last night!
Glad you found a way to help the cramps. I get them in my legs and feet and its awful!
All I know is that I am still hoping Sam and Diane get back together.
On the calf thing... try drinking more water - you might be a little dehydrated. (that's what the doctor told me).
I must admit however, Quincy's daughter is very attractive.
Uhhh, Tmat, I hate to tell you this but Cheers, uh, isn't on anymore. Yeah it was, uh, canceled over thirteen years ago.
damn
Thank you thank you thank you for pointing out the Jim/Pam problem. I was about to blog about it myself I am so distraught! I mean, I know he moved to another office, moved on with his wife because she hurt him and he just had to deal. But I can not stand seeing Pam so miserable and I do not like Karen for him. She is a good work friend but doesn't have the same spark that Jim and Pam do. Plus it pisses me off that John (who plays Jim) got his ex-girlfriend (who plays Karen) the role...
"moved on with his life" is what I meant...not wife, obviously! I wish!
I like Pam, but Karen is much more attractive. Pam has a mustache.
BTW, Karen is Rashidah Jones, daughter of Quincy Jones.
She was on an episode of Chapelle's Show. She said, "Rocca pads keep your bum muthaf***ing tizz-ight!" Every time I see her, I picture her saying that line.
