cross-eyed

While shopping a couple of weeks ago I happened upon this very cute—and very inexpensive—counted cross stitch kit. It's called "Dragonfly Fantasy" and I thought it looked like it would be fun to try. I cannot remember the last time I did any counted cross stitch anything. I decided to start tonight while Josh was at school and although it took me a minute to figure out the cryptic directions I think I've got it figured out. I'm sure it will take me forever to get it done, but when I do, I'll let you know how it turned out.

Hypothetically it's supposed to look like this when it's done (trimmed out and everything with the little wire hanger):

Wish me luck!

It is so cute! Good luck. And I want one too since I have no patience to do it myself :)

Cute.

I have a needlepoint pillow I started - it's just a geisha girl's face, close-up. It's been ten years and the only thing I've finished is her eyebrows. Can I send it to you when you're done with the dragon fly? Lord knows you'll have lots of time to kill after the baby comes :)

It's very pretty and I'm sure it's one of those "nesting" things expectant mom's do (my sis took up chrocheting very scratchy "baby blankets") and I bet you'll be great at it-

but it brings back nightmares of various Christmas projects my mom used to MAKE us to for the grandparents every year.

Guess what...when grandparents pass away, they send all of that stuff back to you...and now we have 3 of everything.

My mother in law gave me something like that, even though I have expressed no interest in that type of thing and have told her sew (sic).

Sorry, I just had to misspell that. I was possessed. lol

Good luck with that! It is a very cute pattern. I have a tendency to start projects like counted cross stitch and never finishing them. Then, three years later when I find it, the embroidery floss is all tangled and I end up just throwing the whole thing away.

Wow, looks like that should be fun to make. I like the dragonfly design! Good luck!
