Without the weight of the world on our shoulders

How did we get to the point where slouching over is the normal position? Aren't we supposed to be ancestors of the homo erectus? Standing upright. Walking tall.

For me, I think it's a boob issue. Ladies, you know what I'm talking about right? Walk tall and upright and people stare and say, "Look at her—sticking her boobs out." Um...no, that's just the way they sit on my body. If I was sticking them out, you'd know it. When you are standing with correct posture and walking without being all hunched over you feel really good. So why don't we do that all the time?

I say cast aside any worries about being pointed at and stand up straight and walk with power. What do you say?

I think it is just laziness.

Standing taller also makes you look thinner.

I know exactly what you are saying and I agree..stop worrying what others may perceive you to be doing and WALK TALL and PROUD..
Have a great day!

I walked hunched over because I'm both sneaky and have low self-esteem.

I have no problem with ladies walking tall.

Alex brings up a good point.

You're trying to start a porn blog, aren't you?

I like to call them my "fun bags."

I try to walk with good posture, but I gots me the scoliosis and stuff so it hurts sometimes. That's why the world sees me shuffling along looking like a troll on most days.

Anyway, since I gained a little weight, I totally heart my boobs! I just wanted to declare that!

Snagley—good to know your breasts don't pose an issue for you.

MD—it's guys like you that point and stare. I'm telling Trish.

Lynda—good point about looking thinner.

liljenny—Thanks for stopping by.

blogarita—I thought you walked like that because you were drunk.

barry—glad to hear.

Alex—I thought of that as I was typing it. Someone found me today by the term "what tree are scrabble tiles made from".

Popo—umm...Mammaries!

Lisa—I heart my boobs too. I'm just tired of being selfconscious about them. Boobie lovers unite!

Jen—But do you know who the ladies are?

i have to walk tall, i don't have a choice. at 5'0", if i don't stand up straight i blend into all the little asian ladies around me. well not totally, i'm blonde. but whatever.

I hunched over when I grew boobs 'cause I hated them! I was so self conscious.

And when I'm making cards I always sit on the floor or something and end up with a really bad back!

beebers—It's not much different at 5'4". But I like being this size.

sarah—Do you still hunch b/c of the boobs? Or just out of habit?

out of habit, I always feel more comfortable when I sit/stand up straight though

5'4" is the perfect height, Pixie. That's how tall my girlfriend is. It's a definite selection criteria of mine. Which brings me around to your post here. I definitely am all in favor of women walking tall. Like you said: Boobie Lovers Unite!

As for me, I used to walk bent forward somewhat when I was thin, but now that I have a bit of a belly, I walk tall and straight. I think I just needed the gut to balance things out.

Oops. I forgot to thank you for accepting me as a tenant, Pixie. Thanks!!

You are so right. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they carry themself.

I wish I had better posture because I probably wouldn't have so many back and neck problems. But it's hard carrying around all that extra weight up top!

Pixie:
I think you should stand up straight and be proud of your boobs! Plus, standing tall, shoulders back, pelvis tucked-under (whatever that means) is how to take pressure off your lower back!

P.S. I am 20 pounds heavier than I was in college and now finally have boobs.
