HELP!

Six more weeks until my "summer vacation". Six more weeks until my days and nights are filled with no obligations for 4 consecutive weeks. Six more weeks until the sun sees lots of my flesh while basking in my new backyard sipping mai tais, margaritas, and dirty bananas. Sounds awful doesn't it? What I need from you is some good reading material. I don't want my brain to rot away into a pool of mush. So, what books can you reccomend to me? Huh? Help...

My 30th birthday is also just a mere 2 months away. We may be in Arizona at that time, but if not, got any great ideas for a celebration? Besides getting drunk?

Well, I've already suggested reading material...anything by Nelson Demille. Especially the three books in the John Corey series, but they may not be the kind of books you like.

As for birthday plans...hmmm...how about a party at Chuckie Cheese? That's what my son wants for his BD in September! ;)

A couple of my favorite authors are Robert Tannenbaum and Jonathan Kellerman. I also enjoy Steve Martini and Patricia Cornwell. All pretty good stuff.

I'm still addicted to teen fiction but I read the lovely bones which is amazing. I love trashy autobiographies as well, kirstie alley's-how to lose your ass and regain your life is a personal favourite but I like her, a lot of ppl don't.

As for the party think bouncy castle, think cupcakes, think party bags...and lots of alcohol!

What gamut does your taste in reading run? My guilty pleasure is Stuart Wood's "Stone Barrington" series. He's older, he's single, he's wealthy, he runs around catching criminals, driving flashy cars, dressing sharp and bedding women. What could be better? I'm actually two books behind in the series. I may have to join you.

When I'm tired of reading serious, gory, thriller-crime novels and need a break, I read fluff and mush like Nora Robers and Jane Green. I can't tolerate much in the romance novel department but some of Roberts' stuff (good thing she writes crime novels under another name) is pretty-well balanced as far as the mush-to-actual-storyline ratio goes. Jane Green is funny and will make you think with an English accent and pretend you're Sarah if you aren't paying attention to yourself.

Ooh, there's some fascinating older books by Phyllis A. Whitney that I spent a summer reading. Good old mystery/adventure novels that remind me of Hayley Mills movies.

Well, here's an early Happy Birthday! I don't know what your looking for, but The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century by Thomas L. Friedman is good. You can check out reviews on Amazon.

Happy Birthday!!! Early but I like to be prepared.

Read "Marley & Me." It an adorable book about a man and his dog. Also, anything by Kathy Reichs if you like crime novels. I'm partial to the British girl-seeking-love type books myself. A couple good ones I've read recently are "The Other Woman" and Mr. Maybe" both by Jane Green.

One of my favs in the last year is Watching the English If you know any limey's it'll tell you a lot about what makes them tick.

A bouncy castle, definately go for the bouncy castle.
