Today we're looking at a high of 60°, but by next Friday we should be in the 80s. I'm thinking that's perfect weather for this sweet contraption. The ice cream ball.
How cool is that? Plus, you can choose from 5 different colors! This would be awesome at a bbq, along with some yuccas. What are yuccas? A delicious but potent cocktail that takes crowd participation. Just like the ice cream ball, you've got to work for your treat.
But it's worth it. Here's what you need:
5 gallon jar (like a pickle jar)
fifth of cheap, white tequila
6 lemons
1 cup of sugar
lots of ice
towel
Pour the entire bottle of tequila and the cup of sugar in the jar. Halve the lemons and squeeze the juice into the jar—then toss the lemons in as well. Add ice to fill the jar and securely put on the lid. Wrap the jar in the towel and shake until the jar is frosted. This will take 15-20 minutes, so pass it around. Enjoy!
It tastes like lemonade but is basically alcohol so watch out.
mmm...I see a bbq in our near future. Now who's going to buy me that ice cream ball?

Wow! Yum! Yuccas sound GOOD! I'm going to add that recipe to my bar book- I thought you were talking about the yucca plant for a minute, there...
That Ice Cream Ball thingy will be the perfect partner to my grill. PLUS you can make ice cream while you dance to Outkast's "Hey Ya." Shake it like a polaroid picture, baby!
The ice cream ball looks like a time capsule or something. Does it have special powers? Can it fly? Can it predict the future like an 8-ball? Where can I get one???
Oh well found. I'm not normally a kitchen tool addict, despite loving to cook, but this one is too good to miss. The kids will love it!
jen—I wondered if people would think I meant the plant at first.
rr—"lend me some sugar, I am your neighbor" or something like that
mr fab—which one? We have a saying about the yuccas—"The yucca will fukka you uppa"—and it will.
VoF—L.L. Bean. Just click the link for more info.
the boy—It's just too cool to pass up.
