it's like a sickness

Yes, yes I know I'm a girl—and I'm almost 30—but I still like to play video games. There has been many a holiday season where you could find me hours deep into whatever game is taking over my life at the moment. The Sims Bustin' Out, Ratchet and Clank (although the newest one didn't do much for me), Tiger Woods Golf, We Love Katamari, The Warriors, God of War...I could go on, but you get the point. I'm not talking 20 minutes of play and I'm done for the day or the week. I'm talking HOURS at a time—especially The Sims. It's like crack. It's sick. I'm not saying this goes on year-round. It comes in waves and usually during the holidays (which is good since I get 2 weeks off around Christmas). And I saw something yesterday that makes me think this year will be no different. The Sopranos video game.

In my opinion, this could turn out to be one of the best games this holiday season. I love The Sopranos. We don't have cable and haven't for years, but every Monday, Josh picks up a copy of that week's Sopranos from friends of ours and we watch it. I always look forward to Monday night because of it. We didn't watch from the beginning, but have seen every season at least once. When we first started, we watched the entire first season in one weekend—that's 13 hours of The Sopranos if you're wondering.

So, needless to say, I'm excited about the 2 entities joining forces and coming to a PS2 near me this holiday season. From what I've read, "players take the role of a mafia soldier and the illegitimate son of Sal "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero." And who doesn't want to play Big Pussy's bastard child? Then you can say, "Oh yeah, well my mom was Big Pussy's goomah—before he went into 'The Program'." Which sounds so cool—especially coming out of a girl's mouth. Wanna read more about it? The story can be found on USATODAY.com & Yahoo!News.

I do much gaming, but a Sopranos game is something I would want to try. Sounds like a very cool game concept.

You'll have to let me know when it comes out so I can get it for Jon. He's a recent Sopranos convert (thanks to me) and loves video games (which is probably why I had to sit through the hell that was silent hill.)

We have XBox 360, and I'm addicted to Project Gotham Racing. Like, I love it. And I get blisters from playing it too much.

I can't wait for the Godfather to come out next month. And I, too, am almost 30.

Godfather is just coming out for the Xbox? It's been out awhile now for the PS2.

What? Gaming is a sickness.

I can sit on my butt and play all weekend. :(

If that is wrong, I don't want to be right. WoW r00xxs! Ok, I don't do good with the l33t speak. But gaming rocks!

Lynda—sadly I don't know what WoW or l33t is.

Holy shit, it's weird that you and I both wrote about Big Pussy on our blogs almost simultaneously. Although it appears you posted yesterday and I posted today.

Great minds think alike...
