I've completely abandoned my exercise regimine. There was a time not too long ago—okay, so it was last year—that I was working out on a regular basis. Diligently. And I loved it. Then something happened. I'd miss a day, then that day turned into a week, then...well you get the picture. Now I'm at a point where the most exercise I do is taking a walk in the neighborhood. I'm not discounting that—it's better than nothing—but I'd really like to get back into a structured routine. One that shows results.
But I need help.
I don't know how to get back into it. I can't afford a gym membership, so it's a home based workout for me. I don't like to run, so you won't catch me jogging around the block. I've got plenty of equipment, just no motivation.
What are you doing?
Help. Get me off the computer and buff again!

I never exercise but I always want to. I'm the same though, can't afford the gym, don't like running etc but then I went home and I could not get off my mum's bike! I haven't ridden one in about 6 years but I loved it so much I'm just waiting for my dad to get me one now
(That's not in a spoilt child way, he knows a guy who he can get a cheap one from!)
A regular bike or a stationary one? Our bikes got stolen last October and with the house and all, we haven't been able to get new ones. Damn heathens.
A regular bike. Or you should get a trampoline or roller blades the best exercise is the kind you had as a kid 'cause it's fun! and it's summer so those things are even funner
Oh, a trampoline would be fun. I need to do stuff that doesn't cost a lot of $$. I should get out and play more tennis. I do have rollerblades but it's been years since I've used them. Too bad golf is so damn expensive, I'd like to play more of that—although I'm horrible.
I used to love tennis. Have you seen all the fat guys that play golf??? I'm sure that's not the best exercise!
They ride in a cart and drink lots of beer afterwards. ;)
That is very true, I usually get bored at about hole two, though, so I'm probably not the best advocate. (I think that's the right word)
It's amazing how easy it is to get out of a routine and how hard it is to start back up. I hate running too, but I just do it.
But I seem to have plenty of time to blog and do other stuff. Damn that motivation factor. If I just did it, I'd probably get back into it.
You need a hobby (that you enjoy) that involves exercise. I'm doing triathlons in June and August, so that motivates me. I want to be able to do it in a respectable time. I also enjoy running and biking though, so that makes it easier.
Join a team of some sort, as, then there will be motivation to not miss games/practices. Soccer is good exercise.
Either move to within walking distance of work (probably not an option), or park the car 20 minutes walk away (easy to do, just don't cheat and skip it). The second forces you to walk at the end of a day, which though I sometimes don't look forward to it, I always feel better after.
You should play more golf, especially since you took those lessons. Sex is a good exercise too. Oh and don't forget about shaking the mixer for the margarita'— thats good exercise.

Why not look for bikes or trampolines on ebay, craigslist.com or at a play it again sports! A lot of people loose the motivation factor and want to get rid of their stuff. (I also know of an AMAZING karate place that was only $20 a month (+$1 for each family member) but it's by where I used to live and might be a bit far for you.)
Is your neighborhood (and also the weather) nice enough to start walking regularly in? Any interest in acquiring a pet? I'm not saying get a dog because it's a great piece of "exercise equipment" but if you have the time and desire for a dog, will get one that goes with your lifestyle and commit to providing it with the proper care (walking) then you might enjoy that as a form of workout. It can be a motivation. A sneak tactic (I'm not walking for me, it's for the dog's health and mental well-being and my sanity). Main thing is you have to have all the right reasons and intentions up front and commit to them, no matter what.
Or just walk. No dog needed. Tack a few abs, pushups, etc, on to the end of each walk. Something different each day.
