I've got a long day at work on Monday, so you do the talking—or—I'm curious, so answer me this:

  1. This week I had to pay $2.88 per gallon of gas. What are you paying where you live, at what point would you consider alternative methods of transportation, and what would it be?

  2. It's said to be bad luck to kill a spider in your home. We catch and release, what do you do?

  3. If they had $1,000,000, the BNL would buy me: a house, a nice chesterfield or an ottoman, a Reliant, a tree fort and a tiny fridge, a faux fur, a llama or an emu, John Merrick's remains, limo rides, expensive condiments, a green drees, a Picasso or a Garfunkel, and—of course—a monkey. I don't want much, but if you had the million, what one thing would you buy me (be creative)?

  4. Peanut Butter Sandwich: Chunky or Smooth? With or without Jelly?

  5. Beatles: pre or post 1964?

1. Haven't bought Gas in like two weeks. I think I paid $2.75 Over $5.00 for more than two months. Time to start peddeling, 'cause I'm biking to work.

2. Kill the mother.

3. If I had a million dollars, I'd buy one of your works of art. That way, you could make a living off of your art.

4. Chunky Peanut Butter: Riding Solo.
Smooth Peanut Butter: Jelly is your friend.

5. Post 1964. I am the walrus.

1. I don't drive

2. Catch and release, whilst screaming the whole time

3. Trees

4. I prefer chunky straight out of the tub. And no JAM thankyou very much I'm British!

5. Pre and post and anywhere in between-or- I'm too young to know which songs are pre or post but I like 'em all anyway.

P.S. I really came here to give you the address of a blog you might like squigglepage.blogspot.com. It helps if you go back in the archives to when they started.

1) Bloody Americans, you have the cheapest gas in the developed world, and still you complain! In the UK, we currently pay over £5/imperial gallon which equates to just about $10/US gallon. I take the train to work, but I still drive to the station!

2)Catch and release if they're bothersome, but mostly we leave them alone. Has nothing to do with luck, they're good for the environment.

3) A gardener for a year. Doesn't mean you keep your hands clean, but she can do all the boring stuff

4) Definately chunky, jam not jelly

5) Post, definatley post.

ohhh...RR, decided to finally post some comments, eh? I like your answer to #3. Suck up...

Sarah—you are so British with your "jam" not "jelly". I love it. I'll be sure to check the site when I get a minute.

the boy—ouch on the gas prices! #2 Good for the indoor environment?

Sarah and the boy—good answers for #3, you both seem to know what I like!

snap...I've got riveting questions and blogger is all effed up this morning.

Fabulous.

Sarah—I've actually checked out that site before. I had forgotten about it. Thanks for bringing it up.

1) I tell people that Americans are spoiled all the time and they still bitch...and I AM an American. And if you're wondering, I'm spoiled too. :P

2) I kill the little bastards as fast as I can and then clean up the evidence. Maybe bad luck won't catch on to it.

3) I would buy you a really really nice antique decanter.

4) SMOOTH! I can't stand those jagged peices cutting into my gums. Although if I'm desperate, I'll eat it anyway.

5) with a banana

Mad Ethel said...

Oh, and I know nothing of the Beatles other than the few they still play on the radio. Everything I've heard I've liked so I don't know what that qualifies me for.

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

MadE—#5 with a banana? Are you referring to the PB question still? An antique decanter—I like the sound of that.

1. I haven't filled up since a couple of weeks ago when it was $2.63- but I don't go anywhere. Here you can pretty much take your pick. One corner's $2.87 is another's $2.89 (all regular grade quotes). There are alot of blocks where you just don't go because you "know" those corners charge 20 cents higher than everywhere else.

2. We don't usually have bugs about b/c the management sprays regularly. We did just annihilate the termites- but that doesn't count. And I'm still smacking the fruit flies that came home from SAM'S with me over a month ago- I wait until they land on the bathroom mirror and whop them with a towel. They get to see it coming.

3. I would buy you a bunny.

4. Cruncy; heck if they still made Peter Pan EXTRA Crunchy, give me that. Jelly on the sandwiches, and on the toast most of the time, sometimes not, though.

5. Beatles? Gah! Never! never at all! Take them away! now!

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

Jen—you don't like the Beatles. How can anyone not like the Beatles?

Jen said...

The Beatles are my earworm nemesis, and I just don't really like the tunes/tempo of most music from that era. It isn't doo-wop and it isn't disco...to me it's a bit of a nasally drag.

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

To me it's Rock and Roll—post 1964 that is.

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

Tim—why a schooner?

Tim said...

why not a schooner?

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

A schooner is fabulous, just wondered where you pulled that one from.

Tim said...

I guess Kevin Smith has been coming to my mind when I come here recently and "It's not a schooner!" from Mallrats popped into my head when I went to answer this.

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

That's the first thing I thought of..."You dumb bastard. It's not a schooner, it's a sailboat."

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

Perhaps I should have clarified a bit on the spider issue. For the most part we will let them be—that is, until they become a bother. I swear I showered with the same spider for two weeks, the other day he dropped a little to close to my head for my liking so I caught him in a jar and will let him go soon (I opened the jar this morning to give him some air).

Lulu—I love the trampoline idea!

Spinning Girl said...

1. $2.93 for regular
2. Catch & release, or ignore it if it is an SAS (spider of acceptable size) or occasionally stamp out if it is a SUS (>1.5" diameter)
3. Thinking is too much work.
4. Jif creamy all the way.
5. Not a fan of the Beatles. Am I going to hell?

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

SG—you're the present queen and you can't reciprocate for lil ol me?

Jen said...

Yay! Somebody else to "not like the Beatles" with me! I'm not all alone! And I'm not weird!

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

Mike— #2. Trish must be proud to have such a manly-man by her side. #3 haha #5 What is up with all the Beatle-haters.

Mad Ethel said...

OMG, yes - I was still referring to the peanut butter question. I love pb with a barely ripe banana. MMMM. I had to post like that b/c my boss walked in on me.

Jen said...

Yay! I'm still not weird- and Mad Ethel likes bananas the same way I do! I buy the greenest ones I can find 'cause I only like them for a day or two after I bring them home.

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

MadE and Jen—Josh and I are a perfect pair for sharing a bunch of bananas. I like them when they are still a bit on the green side, he when they're ripe. I can't stand them when they get mushy. ugg.

1.I pay the same but I have a Honda Hybrid so I get 1 billion miles to the gallon, and only fill up my tank once a year.
2.I scream like a banchee, run, hide, and call the police. Sometimes I cry.
3.I don't Know what a BNL is, but i would buy you something you could use, like a camel or a margarita machine.
4.all, both, none
5.POST They were weak before the drugs kicked in.
6. oops there is no #6.

Dave Morris said...

Gas is about the same here in St. Louis - although I have to buy the expensive stuff so I pay over 3 bucks.

Catch? Release? My policy is smash and rinse.

If I had a million, I'd buy you a pumpkin pie and a chartreuse petticoat. Contrary to popular belief, a llama and an emu are not the same... so don't believe everything the BNL tell you.

Chunky one day, smooth the next. I have both... and always with something else like strawberry jam or grape jelly, unless the bread is toasted, in which case peanut butter alone is acceptable, but the toast must still be a little warm.

Beatles - wow, they have great stuff both pre and post - I should say I love "Love Me Do" and "Let It Be," but I lean more toward the pre-drug haze when the words made sense.

Holly {ArtistMotherTeacher} said...

Sharon—BNL=Bare Naked Ladies. You've heard of them right? Where pray tell do you think I would keep a camel? Stick with the margarita machine.

Dave—mmm...pumpkin pie and petticoats. delicious.
