It seems we always get shafted in the end—or—how we always ride just below the breakout point.
Last Friday morning I started to pull my car out of the driveway and head towards work when I knew something was not right. Flat tire I thought as I pulled back into my spot and put the car in park. Sure enough, it was flat as a pancake. I ran in the house and got Josh to give me a ride into work for a "fun-filled" day of our annual open house for high school students.
Unfortunately for our wallets, the flat was a result of a nail in the sidewall of my tire—which means it can't just be plugged and we now need to buy a new tire. To add insult to injury, when Josh went to change the tire, one of the lug nuts busted off. Now we're talking a tow into our mechanic. I've needed front brakes for awhile and was planning to get them done (but just hadn't taken it in). So, let's do that while it's in the shop. Well, by the time I got off of work, it had cost us alot of $$$.
Fastforward to next Friday—that is today—and Josh's truck breaks down on the way to work. We think that the clutch went out, but can't say for sure. The mechanic can't tell without taking the transmission out—which isn't cheap just to do that. I haven't heard what the results of that ordeal is yet, but I'm sure in the end it will cost us quite a bit more $$$.
On a brighter note, I won a greenhouse kit ($50 value) from the garden show I went to last week. At least that's something to smile about.

Let's hope so. I'd say being sick was the third thing. Isn't life like a stiff kick in the...sometimes?
